RHT Rajan Menon Foundation Ltd (“Foundation”) raised more than S$500,000 at its fifth annual charity golf event held yesterday at Sentosa Golf Club in support of its beneficiaries, namely, the Singapore Red Cross Society, Singapore Management University Pro Bono Centre, Alzheimer’s Disease Association and the Singapore Road Safety Council.
Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than S$2 million to support beneficiaries involved in education, the environment, disadvantaged groups and the arts. The Foundation’s Successful Ageing Project, an effort towards serving the elderly in our community, was renamed as “Ageing RigHT” as the Foundation aims to intensify its efforts with more initiatives under the project to be rolled out in the future.
Business partners of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing and the RHT Group of Companies, including more than 200 individuals and organisations supported the fundraising efforts this year. Key sponsors for this year’s charity golf event included Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation (Singapore) Limited, RHT Holdings Pte Ltd, Carrington RHT Wealth and Uniforce Security Services Pte Ltd, while Singapore Tote Board and Sentosa Golf Club were supporting partners.
Guest-of-Honour Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for National Development, was present at the gala dinner to witness the exchange of tokens between the four beneficiaries and the Foundation. The gala dinner was attended by more than 200 people following the end of the golf game which saw over 100 golfers tee off for a good cause.
Noting the generous support of donors and sponsors who came together for the event, Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, Patron of RHT Rajan Menon Foundation, said, “The Foundation is a serious and committed catalyst that seeks to inspire mindset change in the wider business community. RHTLaw Taylor Wessing and the RHT Group of Companies also celebrated its 8th anniversary during the gala dinner with a cake-cutting ceremony. Mr Tan Chong Huat, Chairman of the RHT Rajan Menon Foundation and Managing Partner of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing, said, “We believe that CSR is no longer defined by how much money a company contributes to charity, but by its overall involvement in activities that improve the quality of people’s lives. Our programmes namely Ageing RigHT, Red Cross Collaboration, RHT Scholarships & Book Prizes, GAIL, and ARHTPhil have been made possible through the generosity and participation of our partners.”
Following the success of its fifth annual charity golf event, the Foundation is set to host its inaugural RHT RMF Sustainability Day on 26 June 2019 at the Sentosa Golf Club to champion its recently commissioned sustainability initiative named GAIL which stands for Greening ASEAN: Initiatives & Leadership. The initiative aims to promote green growth in Singapore and the ASEAN region as well as galvanise others to embed and grow sustainability into their business model. The event will comprise three components, a sustainability forum, charity golf and gala awards.
