Our Endeavours to Education

We believe that education is key in enabling our children to break out of generational poverty cycles and carve out promising futures for themselves. We support life-long learning through book prizes, scholarships, bursaries and collaborations with educational institutions such as National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Management University (SMU) to celebrate the outstanding contributions of law students, in recognition of their achievements, and to encourage them to continue and inspire others.

Our CSR education awards are structured as follows:

RHTLaw Subhas Anandan Pro Bono Award (NUS)

The RHTLaw Subhas Anandan Pro Bono Award is a tribute to the Legacy of RHTLaw Asia late senior partner, Mr Subhas Anandan, who was a prominent criminal lawyer in Singapore and a champion of pro bono work.

The Foundation launched the Award in 2016 and affirms RHTLaw Asia’s commitment to inspire and encourage NUS Law students to deepen their involvement in spearheading Pro Bono projects in areas they are passionate about.

Deserving Pro Bono projects initiated by NUS Law Students will be entitled to $25,000 over a period of 5 years to support their initiative should they be awarded.

The NUS Law Pro Bono Awards Ceremony is organized by the NUS Faculty of Law to recognise students for their outstanding leadership and contribution in pro bono projects, and to award financial grants to deserving pro bono projects.

RHTLaw Prize In Securities And Capital Markets Regulations

RHTLaw Prize in Securities and Capital Markets Regulations is donated to the best student in the module of Securities and Capital Markets Regulation in NUS.

RHT Tan Chong Huat Prize For Best Student In Corporate Culture

Established in 2015, partnering with Singapore Management University School of Law (SOL), the foundation launched RHT Tan Chong Huat Prize to inspire and motivate exceptional students’ talent from the Bachelor of Laws and Juris Doctor programmes offered by the School of Law (SOL), and to spur them to greater heights of academic excellence. It provides recognition to the best law student in corporate crime.

The prize will be given to the best law student in Corporate Crime, an elective course offered by SOL and given only if there is a candidate of sufficient merit. The award consists of a certificate and a cash prize of $1500.

Subhas Anandan Bursary (SMU)

Established in 2017 through collective donations towards the Subhas-Anandan Legacy Fund, the Subhas Anandan Bursary provides financial assistance to full-time undergraduates of any nationality from the School of Law (SOL) at Singapore Management University (SMU), to spur them to greater heights of excellence. The Bursary valued at $5000 each, aims at helping Law students through financial hardships, tenable for one year of study.

RHT Subhas Anandan Bursary Award

RHTLaw Asia, in conjunction with the RHT Group of Companies, launched the inaugural RHT Subhas Anandan Bursary Award Ceremony on 6 Jan 2015. As a tribute to RHTLaw Asia late senior partner – Singapore’s most illustrious criminal lawyer, Mr Subhas Anandan – and his honourable work, the RHT Subhas Anandan Bursary Award was launched to assist the children and staff of RHTLaw Asia and the RHT Group of Companies to meet their basic schooling expenses. The award is open to students ranging from local pre-school to university and underpins the firm’s desire to focus on inspiring young people and helping them identify their passion and natural skills.

Established in 2017 through collective donations towards the Subhas Anandan Legacy Fund, the Subhas Anandan Bursary/Scholarships provides financial assistance to full-time undergraduates from the School of Law at the Singapore Management University and to spur them to greater heights of excellence.

Sponsorship to Singapore Management University Pro Bono Centre

The Foundation is pleased to support Singapore Management University Pro Bono Centre to advance the pro bono spirit within the legal fraternity for a period of five years starting from Academic Year 2017-2018.

RHT GRACE Institute

RHT GRACE Institute is a member-supported social enterprise governed by its Council and guided by an Advisory Panel focused on promoting governance, risks, anti-money laundering, compliance and ethics (“GRACE”) among the corporates and professionals. Users learn about the GRACE concepts through a proprietary app developed by RHT GRACE Institute.
